Mar 19th, 2023I finally get to try Cornelissen after years of trying but after my MunIebel shipment getting lost/stolen I’m left with entry-level Susucaru. Fine crushable with pale color, dominated by natural funk at first, it reveals red berries and a good tart palate. Nothing transcendental but it’s not what there’re going for

Sep 9th, 2022Entry-level red, blend of mostly Nerello Mascalese (85%) with other local varieties, Nerello Capuccio, Minella Nera, Alicante Bouschet, Minella Bianco from different vineyards on different contradas. Quite fragrant. Berries, strawberry, smoke and floral notes on the nose. Juicy. Crunchy red fruit on the palate. Tart. Good acidity

Jan 26th, 2022This went down easy, second bottle and as Quick as the first One. Hard to believe its 750ml.. But really the 2018 vintage from frank hasnt got that much seriousness about it, just easy drinking. Sometimes thats perfect 💥

Opens with carbonic prickliness and barnyard funk turns to Jura-esque Trousseau with air, black cherry, cherry compote, orange peel, pink peppercorn, rhurbarb, red apple skin. Nice with tuna crudo and salt + pepper squid, gains incredible pepperiness with air and macerated cherries. Even better with pizza, Gloucester flou. So much bottle variance with this wine, always delicious but sometimes slamming. Very glouglou.

Previously contadino. This vintage is heavier. Think I got a glass opened the day before which does not serve these wines well. Liked it better before frank started to filter.
