Cannubi Barolo Nebbiolo
A great Barolo with energy for days. Nose is heavenly spices, tar, roses, oolong tea and dried leaves. Gorgeous nose. 9.7 nose. Palate has so much energy and depth. Perfectly ripe cherries and terrific complex minerals and sauce, ripe tannins. Unreal purity and length. An outstanding wine.

May 4th, 2024Nice. Decant and enjoyed over two days. Blackberry pie and blackberry leaf. Smooth with enough tannins to carry it to the finish. TBL

Mar 24th, 2021Bright scarlet, thin/translucent. Fun nose, with a fruit bias. Notes of ripe red cherries, smoked meat, dark soil, some kirsch and some tart cranberries. Light and some pucker in the mouth. A decent bottle from the Bicyclette list.

Jun 29th, 2020Today the 2015 Barolo Cannubi is an elegant, classy wine. The Cannubi also seems to have handled the heat of the summer more gracefully than the Brunate. Silky and sensual, the 2015 is very attractive today. The aromatics are perhaps just a touch forward, but the 2015 makes up for that with its suave, inviting personality. Crushed flowers, mint, licorice and sweet berry fruit add to the wine's charm. I wouldn't push my luck on aging too much, but the 2015 is undeniably appealing. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, November 2019)

Nov 22nd, 20192013. Well balanced and good now but needs time. In the decanter for an hour before drinking. Beautiful rose lift with grip and fruit opening well.

Jun 27th, 2018Big fan of Paola’s Cannubi, and ‘14 confirms my believes in her ability to craft classic, elegant and age worthy stuff. While less concentrated than most recent vintages, I love its vibrant finish.
