Forja del Salnes
Leirana Albariño
Bright lemon color with stone, citrus and tropical fruit aromas and floral scents. On the palate flavors of pear, apples and pineapple with lemon citrus and chalky notes. Well balanced with pleasant lively acidity, long finish ending with mineral, citrus, floral and wet stone nuances. Very nice!

Aug 24th, 2024Always taut with laser acid, explosive citrus, and way underripe peach. Saline Salnes. Albariño has never been a favorite white for me. Blind tasters moved away from Sauvignon Blanc due to lack of green character. Most settled on Albariño with Alsatian Riesling getting a vote.

Mar 17th, 2024Another case of “oxi-but-mineral”. Frankly, I abhor such a conundrum. It’s absolutely torturing - gives you a glimpse of the wine’s potential, then it’s snatched away by poor storage/shipping. Sigh.

Jun 7th, 2022Hands down one of my favourite Albariño producers! Classic style done very well, drunk with fried calamari, strong pairing.

May 23rd, 2020From sandy soils in coastal Salnes this is salty and mineral Albariño. Citrus and underripe peach are in there but this wine leads with nice weight and high acidity with no malo.
This screams for seafood.
