My first wine from New York. Crazy light in the glass. Fresh washed raspberries and cranberries on the nose. Dried raspberries take over the palate with refreshing acidity followed by a dry herbaceousness that work well together to give the wine some body. Great first impression of east coast wine

Cranberries and spice on the nose soft and elegant on the palate. Best NY state Pinot so far!

Forge Cellars is an intriguing collaboration between Louis Barruol, proprietor of St. Cosme in Gigondas, wine grower Rick Rainey, and vintner Justin Boyette. Their 2014 'Classique' Pinot Noir is fine-boned and poised with floral, woodsy aromatics of decaying rose petals, hibiscus, underbrush, and sous. It's translucent quinacridone violet with lean, elegant curves underpinned by high-toned red berries, rose hips and crushed stone that tapirs to a lingering finish. 12.3% ABV | Sample

Cherry, mossy earth, bramble, cranberry and oak. Light-bodied, good acidity and moderate tannins.

Ok, so this is not the best pinot noir I’ve ever had, but it’s also far from the worst. Light and bright red, cherry and butterscotch aromas and flavors. Not much in the way of herbs and spices, no earthiness. Picked up a bottle so will give it a second shot.
