Apr 4th, 2022Well…this made my heart pitter-patter. The 2015 Foreau Vouvray “Sec” currently pours a deep straw color with medium+ viscosity. On the nose, medium+ intensity, with lanolin, peach and lemon. On the palate, the stone fruits, citrus and lanolin are also present with a lovely run of minerals. The texture is simply divine. The wine is dry but a little RS there just because. Soaring high acid makes the mineral finish forever long and gives the overall impression of freshness. A fabulous Vouvray Sec drinking so well at the moment and delicious pairing with our first courses.

Oct 31st, 2021About as pure and classic as can be for a bone dry Vouvray. Herbal, pithy, concentrated, savory, slightly exotic. Lemon zest, quince, bruised apple, wet wool, ginger, chamomile and bitter stone fruit pit flavors. Floral character emerges at the right temperature and with some decanting this will uncoil a bit and offer more flesh, weight and texture. Patience recommended, but this will nevertheless offer a lot of gratification and pleasure at this young stage as well.

Jun 12th, 2020Muted aromatics of orange. Palate of apple and pear with a herbal overtone. Taught minerals and bright acid support it’s medium weight. Very dry, almost austere. Nevertheless a very distinctive wine just chocked full of style. Excellent with roasted chicken breast with truffle and confit chicken leg from Covid-19 take out from @Copine.
