Had this last about 4 years ago and it was brutally tannic and closed. It’s just starting to come around. Still a bit scorchy on the nose (a telltale sign of overextraction), bit at least it’s identifiable as a Nebbiolo now. Scents of dusty cherry and old barrel. Tannic still, but a little less so, and a bit austere on the palate. Right now it’s not so pleasant on its own but will likely be better when the Brasato al Vino Rosso is done in a couple of hours.

Even though this is a 2010, it's precocious and needs more age to calm down. Nice strawberries and additional red fruits. Still thin and lacks density.

Dark red fruits, aggressive tannins that ease greatly over time. Bright, refreshing. A great match w Amatriciana. Changed nicely as it was out. By 3 hrs, very gentle.
