A little past its prime, unfortunately (flavor profiles are a bit flat). Still, its quality is clear. Notes of anise and black berry (which is kind of surprising), are followed up by plum and a trace of tobacco. Very good, but probably better a year or two ago.

Probably one of the most complicated yet smooth wines I've ever had. It has a bright, juicy black cherry base, bright overtones of lavender, and hints of stony soil, all wrapped in warm oaky vanilla. Like a great guest, it is smooth as silk, and leaves without a trace. A new fave.

Lots of ripe, red fruit up front; very satisfying. Wonderful deep color in this medium bodied beauty. Tannins, not overpowering, minerality, & oak elegantly combine & persist throughout. Great expression of this region & varietal. -2007

Rioja from Jose Ordonez. 24 months French oak. The nose is seductive, but definitely needs an hour open for it all to knit together.

Team pick at TOTAL WINE, and I can see why. 100% tempranillo that's one of the best I've had....my 2nd bottle as good as the first

Ok. Very mellow. Mild tannins and acidity. Almost too mild.

Earthy nose, mild yet distinctive tanins, ideal for red meat.

Very very smooth $18 rioja. Dark cherry and unsweetened chocolate, with a sort of rocky backbone, with oak really nicely blended in. Some pepper and anise on finish, like dried leaves. Maraschino cherries on the nose. Medium to light body
