I went to Oktoberfest in Munich several years ago and had such a great time I celebrate at home every year. Though I’m a little late, I wanted to do it before the end of October. I made brats with sauerkraut and mustard, pretzels with homemade beer cheese, gurkins and cheese. I did learn a big lesson today. Gewürztraminer is also made in California. 🙄 I assumed it was only a German grape.

Gewürztraminer is my favourite white grape and seriously underrated. This is a solid contender in the value category. Delicious vanilla melon peach honey citrus lychee pineapple notes combine with a very minerally stone on the back of your mouth. The only downside is it's a bit spritzy and the mineralogy is too powerful.

Great quality overall for $7, paired with Indian or anything spicy.

8.8 There is a lot of space between 3.5 and 4.

A too sweet #gerwürztraminer from Fetzer. There are some floral notes but just too sugary and cloying for me up front.

Pleasant enough with a Thai yellow curry, but overly sweet when finishing the bottle afterwards.

Really nice, seemingly fruity notes, not like any other white I’ve tried

Ripe pear, hibiscus floral notes, some rose water, very effervescent and quite sweet. Great with Asian food. Not very sophisticated but an enjoyable crowd pleaser.

Ripened pear, lovely floral, star anise, semisweet. Goes well with spicy and hearty exotic food.

Can't believe how good it is for the price. Will definitely get this bottle again. Buttery, smooth from front to back. Pairs well with eggplant parm
