Trésor Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon Blend
A soft and delicious example of an Alexander Valley Bordeaux-blend. While it may not be the most exciting, it hits the spot and pairs perfectly with grilled meats.

Tresor is a deep ruby wine that lets the Cab come through amid four other Bordeaux varieties. The nose is laden with black and blue berries, cassis, oak spice and some pencil shavings. The palate is beautifully savory, with a cloak of olives, cigars and minerals draped over the dark fruit.

Medium garnet with an elegant, round bouquet of black fruit, violets and forest floor, the tannins are so ripe and silky the wine feels complete today. It will gain depth with time but the fruit is so well integrated and lush it will be hard to put this wine away for long. Cocoa, blueberry, bramble and more all in perfect balance, held together by restrained oak. A beautiful example of an elegant Meritage blend.

Now with more than a decade in the bottle this has fleshed out into a wonderfully balanced California meritage. A treat to revisit after all this time.

Dec 31st, 2016Exceptionally well balanced blend, elegant, but lively. An uber Meritage.

May 8th, 20162010. Hoped for a bit more with this one. Incredibly dark, almost black in the glass. Loaded with blackberry and currant, but has a bit of astringency that throws everything off just a little.
