The 2012 Siena is a blend of Sangiovese, Malbec, Petite Sirah, Cab Sauv. Deep Ruby with aromas of red and black fruits and spicy notes. The palate shows ripe berries and cherries, very jammy flavor. The wine is aged in new Hungarian puncheons (20%) and older French oak barrels (80%) for 12 months in wine caves prior to bottling. Medium bodied, fine tannins, medium finish, drink now, no further aging benefit.

What's interesting about this Sonoma blend is it really tastes like a traditional California field blend: lots of Zinfandel and Syrah. According to the bottle this is a Sangiovese/Malbec/Petite Syrah/Cabernet Sauvignon blend, which was quite a surprise to find out. Very fruity, even candied, this wine doesn't show much complexity. It is light in body with a short finish.

This Ferrari-Carano mix of Sangiovese, Malbec, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon has a medium-dark hue and a nose of red plums, blueberries and sweet oak spice. Stony minerals define the mid-palate. The wine is light in the mouth, with easy tannins. Red berries, cherries and a touch of cola appear on the palate, and it finishes bright and festive with spices - cinnamon and anise - lingering.

2012 vintage, very jammy and baked fruit. Not necessarily a food friendly wine.

This is a delicious blend. It's very spicy at first but has a lasting finish. Wish I had a good steak to go with it!

Cool blend - you can take it through the paces of zin, Sangiovese, etc. although it kind of abruptly finishes...
