La Torrazza Erbaluce di Caluso

Honeyed, riper golden/copper expression of Erbaluce. Likely representative of this Alto Piemonte DOC, but the bottle age had a big influence on this wine. We've had a neighboring young Erbaluce from Boca (Barbaglia) that was a completely different animal. Still, the acid is there in this 2012, and it balances the tropical notes beautifully.

I like this vintage. Soapy almond paste and bruised pears, weird fun spiky mineral midpalate. I want to find this wine's perfect pairing.

Apple and lemon. Notes of petrol. Medium finish. Well balanced acidity (definitely not heavy). Light and fun to drink.

Golden apples, brown pear, dried mango, saline, olives. Vibrant acidity, oily texture, long creamy slightly floral saline finish.

Did a fun & informative palate journey at Seattle's excellent Carlile Room & this wine. @Ryan Wofford - a dj came in & started spinning classic Motown & Stax 45's. This wine is awesome.

Barely there taste, with strong alcoholic aftertaste. Weird licorice smell. Pass

I wish I had a better photo of this because I can't read the label! Wine was really yummy though. Fruity citrus taste.

Sliced peach/stone fruit, quince, minerals. Reminiscent of a wine from N. Rhone but with more acidity. Malo
