Epicuro Puglia Primitivo
A great Primitivo from my favorite Italian region, Puglia. Very fruit forward with the perfect amount of acidity. Very smooth with a very long finish. Perfect Friday night wine

This is not Nero De Avela. It's Primitivo varietal.

Oct 2nd, 20232013 Primitivo..Dark black cherries with a smidge of cinnamon and maybe a touch of spice on the nose. A nice light to medium bodied wine. Not overly jammy on the palate. It has a drying and spiciness to it. I actually like this one. Pairing with steak!

Feb 2nd, 2016The Italian version of Zinfandel which is probably why I like it so much! You can tell it's Italian because it's got the fruit, but also the spice and smoke, and a fuller body than a typical Zin. This wine is from Puglia has dark ripe fruit on the nose, licorice with a little smoke or toastiness. Medium ruby in color, body, and tannins, that grip just slightly but in all the right ways. On the palate you get a ton of fruit being cherry, plum, and blackberry, also notes of spice and that hint of heat from the alcohol. I really enjoyed it especially with the sweet chicken sausage, red pepper, and pasta in a red sauce I made :)
