On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart red fruits: funky cherry, mushroom, horse blanket, pu-erh tea, earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. This bottle benefitted from time in the glass and would recommend a 30min decant ahead of service. Drink now through 2030.

On the nose, medium+ intensity…bursting with bright cherry and raspberry fruit, licorice, dusty gravel, and spices. On the pallet, the wine has tremendous sweet ripe fruit confirming the cherry and raspberry. The wine is truly fresh. Tremendous texture. Finish is long. Medium tannin; medium+ acid. This is a lovely wine and a significant step up from the non-Riserva bottling. Likely the best from Chianti Rufina that I can ever recall having. “Bucerchiale” is only produced when the vintage warrants.

Movie night wine. Savory, loaded with dried fruits and tobacco. Round and easing into its age beautifully. Texturally full and a great match with the 3x meatball recipes we tried against it.
