Fattoria Nittardi
Ad Astra Toscana Super Tuscan Blend
Tuscany, Italy
Reminder why I don’t venture into super Tuscans. Beautiful nose of plums and cherries. Otherwise flabby. Better with pork saltimbocca but wanted more tannin and acid.

A fair amount of black cherry and dried fruits. A little astringent but paired well with vegetable red sauce over pasta and later with homemade pickles.

Agreed with others. This is Tuscan, but hardly super. One-dimensional and unexciting.

Mar 21st, 2024Fruity, herby, paired well with peppery Shepherd’s pie ($16). Complex but not overwhelming. Great under $20 bottle for winter dishes Enjoyed with pork tenderloin
