Intensely savory

Huge smoke and ash on the nose. Wow. Campfire, dark cherry, some cigar box. Very very cool. As it opens up, a lot of lighter strawberry and red cherry on the nose. On the palate, deep dark cherry, tobacco, leather, smoked wood, stewed fig. Just unreal, very cool wine. Medium low tannin, but super super long and stays for days.

Salted plum, tobacco and black tea. Leather and crushed gravel. Savory dried herbs, bruised cherry, elegant and light on the palate. Superb warming quality on this brisk Fall evening. Great old world style for less than 40$.

A wonderfully nuanced, graceful wine that is medium to light bodied but has a terrific intensity and long finish. The wine paired beautifully with the full gamut of pastas from this perennially hip Japanese-Italian, Chelsea establishment.

Absolutely gone. Well past due date which is surprising for such a youthful BdM.

Lovely Brunello given its price; most do not fair well in my tastings when less than $40. This vintage is ready to drink now. Decanted. Give it some time to open. Received professional ratings from 91-95,

Obviously not drinking with you cmac, but this should be on your list for a nice light but satisfying red. Throw it in the freezer for half an hour.
