They rebranded the bottle, so it looks a lot less tacky than it did previously. I figured, why not give it a go since it looks (somewhat) respectable.

I didn’t have high expectations for a sub $30 Willamette Valley Pinot… but there’s quite a bit going on here. Fruit… as expected, but a lot of earthy undertones. It’s like a barnyard with hay. And one of my favourite characteristics of Oregon Pinots… Cola.

After all this I noticed ‘By Sokol Blosser’ on the bottle… it all makes sense now.

With J & J @ Morrie’s (FSD). Really liked it—not sure of vintage

Having on its own is alright, it might be better with food. Light bodied and fruit forward, but the finish doesn’t last. Might be better slightly cooler than at 70 F when I tried it.

Edit: having it again the next day with a meal at 63 F was much more pleasant. The wine “evolved” or perhaps my palate did in that stretch. Very enjoyable Pinot noir.

A fruit forward Pinot with a kiss of tannins and richly layered with dried red fruit and fresh raspberry and the faintest hint of leather on what’s a lovely velvety finish.

Excellent given the price point. And impressively little smoke given the year. A bit of strawberry jam, cherry and plum.
