Enderle & Moll
Buntsandstein Ida Pinot Noir
Not as impressed as previously.
A bit too much acetone aroma, a bit too agressive acidity at a second stage - and god knows I love good acidity... so, may be the bottle, may be the wrong time, but nothing as magical as a year ago... nothing terrible either dont get me wrong :-)!definitely finished the bottle...

Probably way too young but already enchanting and bewitching. Precise and delicate, on a high acidity backbone. This is my kind of pinot and now i could like to drink the same bottle in 10 years... I am still just touching on this partnof the world but this is way beyond any pinot I got from the area.

1 person found it helpfulMar 1st, 2020I knew it was a mistake to open at this stage. Lots lurking but not much giving. Wearing a thick layer of protective clothing ,the only things peaking out were acid, earth and hints of red fruit.
Next bottle opened will be next decade.

Gorgeous wine. This is just stellar. In 2-3 years this will be a 10. Herbs, oregano, orange rind, strawberry, plenty of acid, quite tannic, black currants, cranberries, lime, hint of plum. It was a warm vintage. For all the folks who had trouble with the 17’s. I hear you - might have been outliers. Ever since E&M really rocked. My 17’s big boys were for some reason actually pretty good and i plan to keep them for another 2-3 years or so.

Nov 13th, 2023I'd have to have this next to the regular Buntsandstein to say for sure how they're different. I get the impression this is slightly weightier but otherwise the experience is similar. This is spectacularly transparent stuff, nimble and packed with rocks and gravel. Both Bundsandstein pinots strike me as more transparent and ethereal than the Muschelkalk.
