Palo Cortado Península Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Seco Dry Palomino Fino

Years ago went to a Valdespino tasting, & learned that Lustau made their sherries from land not owned by them, which was a dis. I gotta say though this Palo Cortado is a thing of beauty, especially for under 23$.

Nose: nuts, honey, mushrooms
Taste: coffee, mushroom soup, almonds, lemon
Decent tannin

Dark amber, very dry, high acidity, light-medium bodied. Toasted almonds, bitter green olives, a little oily, saline finish. You could probably drink this with just about any food and be in a good place.

Opens up beautifully in the glass. Sweet on the nose, but bone dry.

Nutty and zesty with very long finish. Pairs incredibly well with Manchego cheese and Marcona almond.

Superb Sherry. Wonderful.

Another winner. Smooth and dry. I can’t tell much of any difference between this and the Los Arcos. I might need to consult @Josh Morgenthau
