More masculine, by far than the Gavarini Chiniera. Dense, savory, intense.

We had this on 1/20-21/18. Dark fruit and leather on the bouquet. Black cherry, lavender, cedar on the palate. Silky tannins and a smooth finish to this medium bodied wine.

Very nice after a five hour decant. Perhaps missing a bit of rusticity but full bodied, deep red fruit, excellent staying power. Would like to try in a few / many years.

I'm not sure how to describe this wine, it's good of course but there's nothing outstanding about it.

Nice to try these two together, for me the Casa Mate is a more complete wine next to the Chiniera.
