Wow. So pretty with floral and mineral aromatics.

2012 will be hard to assess in #Barolo but there is at least 1 truly great example.

Special treat here tasted at the winery... Barolo destemmed by hand. For some reason had less oomph and structure and that tannic mouthfeel that I enjoy. How could you not appreciate the effort though! This is a priceless bottle #barolo #baroloboys #arborina #elioaltare

Same as their Arborina, but de stemmed by hand (uno per uno). Superfine texture, delicate but powerful.

Lush cherry, much more approachable but how will it age? 2011 was her 1st vintage.

Hand picked grapes from Altare -- uno per uno. Amazingly small production.

Picked berries one by one. Lighter color as stems removed. Softer tannins make for drinking now but age will make this beautiful

Handwork of de-stemming remove the tannin and a slight austerity from a bit of stem completely even in young vintage. Strong aroma characteristic of Arborina and roundness like the small marbles. It will be interesting to see how it will change in older vintage.
