Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru Champagne Blend

A lovely Pinot Noir, very bright and linear. My first time with Barnaut bubbles, as our first choice of Paul Bara was out and the bartender said this would be closest in style.

I'm a Barnaut convert after today. Powerful and virile Champagnes (I know, not usually my style). Vinous.

Depth and purpose.

Biscuit dough on the nose. Taught and lifted. A real bargain.

This one, also for me. So delish! Great complexity, good almond action. It's like a party in my tastehole with biscuits, almonds and great vibrant acid!

There's something to this wine that reminds me of those little milk bottle sweets that you used to get. Very lovely, not too weighty, good fruit on the length.

Smelled oxidized. Bruised apples, subtle vinegar-y notes. Tasted complex but there wasn't a lot of flavor definition, nor much deliciousness.

Aromas and flavors of tiny fresh strawberries, lime pith, butter, wet chalk, gun smoke and fennel. Long, lemony finish. Wonderfully versatile food wine.

Bubbles were fine and petite. Flavor lacked depth or character.
