Always gotta finish with bubbles 🥂 my third and final contribution of the evening and the perfect bottle to end on. This got downed fast as our palates were in need of respite. I lament that this was my final bottle of this stuff, but I couldn’t have asked for a better way to kill it off 🍾

@Ron R I think when I chilled the bottle in an ice bucket with water in it the label turned a more saturated gold color. It’s normal color is the more classic beige with a gold tinge.


Bouzy Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Champagne Chardonnay

Prior notes apply, but doing a little better than last time, 91.5 points tonight.

Nose of lemon juice, toasted brioche and cold limestone.
Palate has yeasty citrus, creamy minerality and fun salinity on the finish.
A nice BdB with no dosage.

I've found the Brice NV bottles all need a decant, yes decant Champagne, seriously. These bubbles are over the top, and only an extensive airing will bring you full enjoyment. The vintage bottles are good to go from the bottle, more restrained effervescence there. This was decanted for about 45m, but I did have the decanter in the refrigerator, I still have respect for service temperature.
