Third time having this vintage, great every time, but I think this the end of its lifespan. Fresh apple has turned to baked apple, it’s always had some brioche and toasty notes, fabulous mousse and fine bubbles. Today a touch bitter to start (a bit unusual for this wine) but character went away.

The 2018 Spring Confrerie dinner was a wonderful time with some great Alsatian wines (and non-Alsatian wines) and fantastic food!

Nice little bubbly. Poached pear, baked green apple, minuscule bubbles, creamy texture.

This was a fun sparkler. Nose was so fresh and fruity. Pear and brioche flavors in the mouth, with juicy acidity and a clean, relatively long finish. Fine bubbles.

Just a little midweek celebration of, of, I don’t know, the * cough cough* conviction of both *cough cough* Manafort and Cohen.

Nice fine bead and froth. Fresh nose: apples and toasty rye bread. Some bitter pear skin. Fruit up front in the mouth and then turning minerally, the finish lingers nicely. At under $20, great value.
