Tasted blind. So what follows, a 91 La Turque served blind of course. Dark tawny and opaque. Notes of black cherries, coffee, iron, mocha, blood sausage. Very masculine and powerful in the mouth. Huge wine. Guessed 1999 Rostaing Cote Blonde Cote-Rotie.

May 25th, 2020Brought to Zola. Dark reddish tawny. Exotic nose. Notes of earthy cherry, some menthol, dark soil, blueberries, and some great spice. Rich and expansive in the mouth. With 5 hours of air this exploded in the glass. Silky. Love this wine.

Aug 29th, 2019Taken to Grasings in Carmel. Decanted and given a few hours of air. Dark tawny. Opaque. Not showing much age. Killer nose. Exotic. Notes of cherry fruit, raspberry, bacon, pepper, blood sausage, some menthol and some wispy herbs. Silky rich in the mouth. Still chewy. With air this explodes. Long finish. Still feels young. Amazing grape juice!

Birthday bottle—A total knockout this was. It remains youthful still, with serious structure, power and concentration. Ripe black fruit, coal smoke, cigar box, bacon and game. It develops and evolves with air strutting its exceptional balance, detail and otherworldly complexity as the night progressed.
There is a rich, round and velvety texture with fine tannins and tremendous intensity and depth. The transition from midpalate to finish is absolute perfection and it’s 30 second finish can make you weak at the knees. A superb showing, and the 1991 vintage does indeed have plenty of life left to live. Bravo. ✨

Incredible classic nose. Super savory and complex. Just really like just smelling the glass! Great weight, tannins are super soft and with a finish that won't quit. A truly Amazing wine, you know when you know. Great vintage. Drink now -next 7 years. In it's peak.

Deep garnet almost ruby color. Dark fruit, leather and roasted meat on on the nose. Incredibly complex. Full body, integrated tannins with a perfect balance between flavors and acidity. Goes on for a while.
