The fragrant 2020 Condrieu enters the stage with prominent lemon flesh, yellow apple, white peach, apricot and melon aromas. Medium- to full-bodied, it dazzles with a juicy core of ripe stone fruit flavors, mellow acidity and solid drive on the complex finish. (Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous, March 2024)

Very aromatic. White peach, gardenias, crushed rocks, medium minus body and medium minus acid. Love the aromatics, but the acid was pretty low. 14.5 abv.

Doesn’t get too much better than this for viognier lovers.

Notes of pear and pear skins on nose and palate. Rich and unctuous with hints of honey. Flavours fill every corner of the mouth. Low acid. Great match with smoked cod No point in further cellaring - delicious now. Will look to drink more Condrieu in the future - love Viognier.

Another Wednesday Wine Committee for the books, this one in honor of a former WWC member, with the wines donates from his cellar by his family. A wonderful tribute. Wines tasted blind as usual.
Shame on me for missing this. As soon as I tasted it I said “I’ve had this before” but couldn’t place it correctly. I guessed Alsatian Riesling, but after time in the glass, there was no doubt this was Viognier. Floral, low acidity, mint, and a quick peach finish.
