This was rather beautiful, especially after getting plenty of air.

Forgot to post these from the other day. Mark, Dan and I were able to enjoy a relaxed afternoon at the wine storage facility, and some unique stuff was opened, as always!

A killer ‘04! That tannic and intense mountain fruit has mellowed out nicely to give way to cassis, blackberries and truffled mushroom on the nose. Texture is still wonderfully balanced and the finish is very smooth and lingers with plum, licorice and a touch of clay. Can’t wait to try the cab francs I have. Thanks Mark.

@Carl Fischer thank you for recommending - love it - decanted for 2 hours - had me at hello - color was hypnotizing - watching swirl in the glass was deep thought provoking "yeahs" thoughts

Taste is so inviting - big time jammy - dark black and blue everything - throw in the right spice and some chocolate mocha and the palette begins to speak - complex but simple - structured but balanced - it simply works

The nose is what is keeping me from dancing - just a little less than I would have hoped which tells me it will get better as it ages in the bottle

The finish was long and powerful - love it and will last 10 years but definitely can drink now with right decant

Think boysenberry pie. Tannins are there but not dominate. Perfectly balanced with finesse. This is one of those 'tastes like another'. When you know one bottle isn't going to be enough. Just pop and pour and enjoy this beauty!

Gorgeous. Earthy, minerally, good acid. This will last a long time.
