Incredible - totally agree with Antonio G - prefect with the pork and dessert

Jan 31st, 2021Deep Ruby with purple hues, aromas of dark fruits, licorice, spice, floral and herb. On the palate flavors of ripe juicy blackberry and plum with of smoky oak. Well balanced, nice mouthfeel, soft tannins, long finish ending with spice smoky oak character. Very nice!

Dec 3rd, 2020This Pinot is in an awkward and unbalanced place. The structure had fallen apart and left the wine with somewhat tired fruit and not much else. Acidity was gone and it simply gave out with exposure in the glass. This wine didn’t have the legs to develop like I had hoped. Next...

Jan 27th, 2020Monthly WTF wine group meet up. This month is new world vs old world Rhône’s. All wines tasted blind. 3 flights.
This was one of my contributions and it may have been due to the comparative style of the night, but this was more ripe than I expected. Many called this Aussie Shiraz. I decanted for about 2hrs by the time this was enjoyed and it was open for business. Ripe blue and black fruit, oak, and a hint of savory notes (sage, charcoal). To its credit, there was a nice lift on the mid palate that gave this a lighter than expected feel.

From a 3-liter bottle it is drinking wonderfully. Bright blackberry, violet, licorice and faint black pepper. Soft tannins, long finish and terrifically satisfying

Dec 28th, 2018Velvety, with a great amount of Up front fruit and tones of earthiness.

Apr 7th, 2018Deep purple in color and cloudy, with a short reddish /brick rim.
Beautiful nose of blueberries, black plums, vanilla, wood, spices, forest floor, tobacco leaf, wet cave, medicine, vegetables, black pepper, acetone, old leather and earth.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, raspberries, wood, licorice, earth, spices, peppercorn, leather, smoke, dark coffee, earth, wet leaves, herbs, vinaigrette and vegetables.
Medium plus on the finish with sour cherries and fine grained tannins.
This 9 year old Syrah from Russian River Valley is still drinking nicely, although on the way out.
Unbalanced with a nice mouthfeel and nice complexity.
Good right out of the bottle and died after 90 minutes of airtime. After 60 minutes tannins come out.
I really liked the nose more than the palate, and loved smelling on it.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
14.3% alcohol by volume. Unfiltered.
90 points.
$75.
