Arrived in Florida this afternoon and had to grab something from Publix to go with our grilled dinner. We've all had Decoy. We all do what we have to do. After dinner I'm moving on to cold Red Stripe beer. It's hot down here!

Decoy Pinot Noir - This varietal most famously comes out of the Burgundy region of France. Aromas of cherry/dark cherry. Dry. Decoy also makes a popular Chardonnay. Good pairing with grilled chicken I had for dinner this night.

Reasonable basic Pinot. Cherry and violet aromas. Bright red berry/Cherry and cranberry fruit flavors. Hint of baking spices and Forrest Floor. A bit hot and tight, and a bit jammy. Short finish.

Jun 26th, 2021Medium light, medium garnet color, no legs to speak of. Good acidity. A bit of fruit (plum and black raspberry?) but a bit of earth too. Getting better as it opens up, but the bottle will be empty before it’s fully opened. I would do this again for sure... and I’m not normally a fan of lighter-side Pinot.
