They really got the most out of this vintage. Gorgeous nose. Extremely dry finish at this stage, but a good buy.

Deep ruby color with a scent like evergreen woods on a cool, wet evening. Breezy touches of juniper, eucalyptus, and mint wreath a body of plummy spice and forest-floor, and its supple, ruby-fruited tannins are shot with a cooling hit of coffee-mint and cassis. This wine is at once genial, velvety, and almost glossy, but it’s not without an edge. 51% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot, 10% cabernet franc, 5% petit verdot, and 4% malbec. A lovely Meritage made for steak. 13.5% abv | $45 (sample)

Have only had the 13 before this. Got a few half bottles of the 11 from the store down the street (half bottle at 9.99 when 750 bottle costs 35???). The 11 is drinking well. Some dark fruit and nice structure with solid tannins.

8/8/17 home with Anthony, steak dinner. Good sonoma wine, do not aerate, full body without.

Was hoping to try the 2009 but the 2011 is very good.
