This Fumé Blanc is 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes and is bright and refreshing throughout. It has prevalent citrus flavors of grapefruit and lime, with a nice touch of minerality in the form of slate and saline.  A wonderful value and paired great with a spicy chicken salad with poppyseed dressing. ($8) [4/14/18]

Citrus, lychee, pomelo, allusion of grapefruit. Light and refreshing without overpowering acidity. Great minerality, clean finish.

Sipping Fine Wine

In 1972, when David S. Stare opened the doors to DCV, it was the first new winery to be built in the Valley since Prohibition. DCV created the first Sonoma Fume Blanc, originated the Dry Creek Valley AVA. Straw with stone fruit and citrus aromas. On the palate Granny Smith apple and grapefruit flavors with lemon zest wrapped in a juicy acidic frame. Nicely balanced on medium finish ending with mineral tones. Nice value. Tasting Sample.

Great label. Ok wine. Not bad for 12:37 at the end of daylight savings time.

Smokey campfire and spice and hay, with muted fruit and acid on the backend. Easy to sip!
