Drew Family Cellars
Valenti Ranch Syrah
At a Mendocino wedding stumbled on this tasting room a few years back. Brought this home and last night, well, WOW. More of a Grenache gestalt than Syrah after 90 minute decant, pure and layered red bright berry, some bay leaf. Wish I had another bottle to see how this ages.

Dec 29th, 2016Perhaps not for me. Very boozy. Memorable flavor is overripe fruit (in the syrupy way).

One of the more impressive Cali Syrahs I've had this year. Dancing between black and red fruit. Bright and easy-drinking 13% abv

May 16th, 2015Beautiful now and will get better with a few more years. Glad we brought it along for one last visit to the BH location before they close down.

Nov 26th, 2017Another one of my favorite CA Syrahs. Beautiful fruit, made with a deft hand. #BUFinSF

Apr 21st, 2017Imagine a Syrah from Northern Rhone but it's actually from California. There is no meat fat smell or taste like you get in a northern Rhone. Also, not as spicy as what you would find in a Saint Joseph, for example. So, it's a California Syrah that is so much savory and earthy like a French northern Rhone.
