Deep Ruby with aromas of rich dark berry fruit and smoky spices. On the palate flavors of cherry and blackberry with oaky notes, black pepper and tobacco. Long finish with soft ripe tannins ending with berry fruit, spice and earthy mineral notes. Very Nice, still has room to improve with time.

Plum, black currant, cocoa and spice. A little cut green grass but not intrusive. Forest floor. M- acid, m+ body and tannin. Black fruit, red fruit, earth. Lush. Balanced. Good structure. Constantly changing the more it opened up. Give it a little more time. Still a bit young.

Aug 2nd, 2016I prefer Bordeaux to these big Napa Valley Cabernets, but this Cabernet is excellent and paradigmatic of the Napa Valley style. At a perfect age where all the tannins in the finish are smooth. A very big but elegant wine that needs steak. Powerful attack of elegant Cabernet fruit. A perfect choice for Cabernet Sauvignon lovers. A great buy for $80.

Michael Kirby is one of my favorite wine makers and every DR Stevens I've had has been good. This is better than good. And while you can cellar it and wait, why would you do that when you can enjoy this one right now
