Ürziger Würzgarten Spätlese Saar Riesling

#2002s were generally overshadowed by the international press in favor of the 2001s, which, in themselves, were indeed lovely #Mosel #Rieslings. However, as time goes by, it's becoming more and more obvious that the the tables have turned now that some of the baby fat has been assimilated into what have turned out to be utterly beautiful examples of what Mosel Rieslings are all about: finesse, elegance, minerality & harmony!

Really delicious. Harmonious and complex - just enough sweetness to go with cleansing acidity.

Right near the peak of middle-age. Could probably continue to age, but in a gorgeous place now.

White mushroom, dried apple, golden honey, chestnut.

Very tasty juice. A finish that lasted for 30 minutes!!

Sweet and juicy plum, melon, peach

Lovely combination of sweetness and acidity. The acid comes through crisply in the finish. The sweetness is quite subdued at this point, and the wine has aged sufficiently to drink now. A great choice.

Typical german riesling spatlese with some residual sugar. Lack a little bit of complexity.

Deep gold. Honey, gasoline, apricot on the nose. Full body with great acidity than balances the sweetness. Very long finish.
