Young and teeming with energy, Dr Loosen’s Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese from the magnificent 2019 vintage is a wine that balances natural sweetness with distinct minerality in graceful fashion. Balance is the word for this wine, really, with its medley of honeycomb, camomile, nectarine, bitter lemon and coconut on the nose and orange marmalade sweetness through the palate. This is showing great promise for a young Spätlese, already quite showy, with obvious ageing potential. This was a one off - not a wine I own by the case - so I’ll look out for more.

i should have done more research for i hate sweet wine and this is medium sweet. I thought i was buying a dry riesling. other notes of the wine are nice and i like the bottle and label

I did not think I liked Spätlese style Riesling until this wine. Delicious. Would be better with food, for sure, but fun by itself.
