Beneventano Falanghina
Beneventano, Campania, Italy
I have to say that this is a fantastic white Italian wine! 100% Falanghina. It was highly recommended at the wine store. I usually start the evening with a white then go to a red but I may end the evening with this one. Paired excellent with a seafood fettuccine that I’ve been dying to make.

Interesting white. Straw with fruity aromas. Pear, honey and apricot flavors with some citrus getting through. Medium body, short finish ends with mineral notes. Good value. Tasting Sample.

One of my favorite vintages of this wine to date. Had more ripe flavors and a better concentration of it, more ample acidity (not volatile), and much more aromatics than some previous vintages. Honeysuckle, peaches, white flowers, candied lemon, orange blossom. Very nice wine to have during spring time with a nice tart.

Great little wine from Campania to keep around. Went perfectly with a simple Aglio e Olio recipe. Soft florals on the nose - orange zest, white peaches, and honeysuckle. The pallet is Citrusy, bright, and slightly creamy/oily in mouth feel - Meyer lemon and mineral notes.

Wonderful mineral quality. Just a touch acidic and dry. Well balanced, this is a great wine to drink while dipping Italian bread in olive, balsamic vinaigrette and bruschetta.

Really nice white from campania.. Zesty apricot, bright mid palate, and a creamy, Brie-like finish.. A whiff of smoke on the back end.. Great value from one of my new favorite wineries.

This is my go-to wine here at Confetti in Piermont NY (home). Has the nose and body of a chard with the brightness and acidity of a Vermentino...just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!

Donnachiara – Beneventano Falanghina 2022
Campania – Italy 🇮🇹
Overview
Made from 100% Falanghina, sourced from the heart of Taburno territory in Campania. This native Italian white has a reputation for bright acidity and age-worthy freshness. The 2022 vintage shows Falanghina’s classic balance of fruit, florals, and structure.
Aromas & Flavors
Persistent notes of baked pear, dried apricot, and citrus, with acacia blossom and white flowers adding lift. A faint honeyed nuance sits in the background.
Mouthfeel
Dry, with a mild-solid texture and distinctive structure. Bright and alive, with a long but not overwhelming finish. Nearly no malolactic fermentation, keeping acidity pure and focused.
Food Pairings
Excellent with seafood pastas, grilled fish, mozzarella di bufala, or lemon-based dishes. A versatile partner to Mediterranean fare.
Verdict
Succulent and structured, this Falanghina offers immediate pleasure while also capable of aging gracefully until 2027. A benchmark example of the variety — bright, elegant, and satisfying. 🍋🍐
Did You Know?
Falanghina is one of southern Italy’s oldest grapes, believed to have been used in wines enjoyed by ancient Romans. Its name may come from falangae, the stakes used to support the vines.
