My excitement for these wines has waned for quite a while now. However, my reds, Chardonnays and skin contact stash have been stored off-site. I'll visit in a few years to investigate the merits of their making. During the reorganization, I found one last bottle of this beauty. The 2011 was a remarkable vintage for this GB. A special wine. Loquat and oodles of significant salinity. Fresh. Still an emotional thrill to drink, like the first time.

14' Donkey & Goat Grenache Blanc. Nose- Chalky- erasers, marmalade. Palate- Wildflowers, nectarines, canned peaches(the syrup) Light acidity. Decanted it... modest sediment? Absolutely delicious. At this price point...I'm thinking a case!

The first impression was oak, ash, and chalk. It took a bit for the fruit to come on, with citrus and green apple. There's also some vanilla and spice with cooked apple flavors after a little air. This was pleasant and complex, but I would have liked the fruit to be a little more assertive and fresh.
