Jul 12th, 2018Open this a day early, decant, pour yourself a glass, pour back into the bottle, put cork back in and drink the next day. It's great the first day with a good decant but it's amazing on day two and three! SS

May 15th, 2018Excellent Cabernet Franc from Les Poyeux in Saumur-Champigny Champigny in the heart of the Loire. This is the real deal and in the mold of the style like Sylvan Dittiere, Thierry Germain, and Joguet, maybe not quite as precise as Guiberteau or as structured and refined as Rougeard. Deeply red fruited nose and palate that show some pepper and cedar with a vein of minerality and a waft of lifted buttered brioche toast. A great look into Les Poyeux, the site made famous by Rougeard.

Surprisingly soft, broad in the mouth. Faint perfume, simple fruit. Raspberries.
