Aptly named—such a fun wine. Exploding with juicy, vibrant purple and black fruit tinged with violets and iron. Ultra fresh but enough structure that it would stand up to heartier dishes

Mencia and albarin tinto. Pure berry fruit and loads of minerality. Irony, slatey, pencil lead and violets. Great with my Peruvian braised lamb!!

Pop and pour. I didn't reference any notes, but guessed Mencia, so maybe I'm an OK merchant after all.
Whoa! - purple! Color. Slightly meaty, iron rich, tart blackberry nose. Excellent acidity and good weight of fruit. Plus at least .2 grade for fun factor.

Lovely fresh red from Asturias. Made from Mencía and Albarín tinto (=Alfrocheiro in Portugal). Zippy red fruit, black olives, olive brine, some really pretty spices. Taste is very smooth yet fresh. Red fruits, chalky tannins. Tiny green bitter to keep it interesting. Great acidity. Very gluggable. 2013.
