A delicious Grand Cru Alsatian Riesling from Schlumberger. The Saering 2011 is fine-tuned and surprisingly powerful. Grown in marl-limestone-sandstone soils, where vine roots burrow deep, the countenance of this wine one of white peaches and lemon curd, complicated by a pretty, herbaceous veneer. On the palate, it's lush and creamy, with decadent layers of orchard fruit hemmed in by stoniness and spice. The perception here is one of dryness, but there is ample concentration and body too. 3.9 g/l RS 13.32% ABV Sample

Fresh, with some earthy complexity. Burnt lemon peel, jasmine, and gala Apple, needs to be a bit closer to room temp to really shine.

Aromatic with ripe stone fruits, underripe high acidic tropical fruits such as starfruit and passion fruit, light touch of limestone, and petrol. The firm spine of acidity stand up nicely to the Sichuan hotpot while the broad lush palate provides calming effect. Dry but very nice hint of sweetness.

A nice wine that paired very well with the Thai coconut curry soup for dinner. Too young though, needed probably five more years.
