The acidity and underlying structure of this wine are so powerful it’s easy to gloss over the hint of moderation provided by the 11g/l of residual sugar that provide some extra body. This is all stone, smoke and lime at the moment. Eight years on the wine is thrillingly youthful with elegance on its substantial frame. On the palate there is a bit of orange alongside the lime, white flowers, petrol and that exciting acidity. It’s still a baby but showing very well indeed.

Teeter tottering on the edge between oh so joyful & should have opened it sooner. Luckily for me it on this occasion it was firmly in Joysville, with hint of #botrytis lending a heft to the generous acids. So much fun.
