A little funky barnyardy whiff initially, but it blows off within about 45 minutes and then the crushed granite bullies it out of the way. From the nose, one would expect the wine to be kinda challenging in the mouth, but it’s actually the opposite. So soft and approachable at only 5 years of age. Dark red and black berry fruit in contest with the granite, all in a very soft and suave package. Not exceptional depth, but this is a great value, satisfying Cornas.

I mean, who doesn’t love a Rhône valley wine?

Classically lovely barnyard wafts, yet more finesse, like a farm to table Michelin rated restaurant, amidst cows and grad and methane gas.

A weighty wine, with dark berry overall, a hint of Brett, yet not enough to kill all of the flavor, cherry tart, menthol, pomegranate seed, flexing tannins.
A fine ripple these eve. Although bested at darts, I nearly came though in dominoes.

Pretty tasty. Clove, spice, cured smoked meat and dark fruit. Needed time to open but balanced and medium bodied.

This took hours to open up but when it started it was great. Earthy nose of wet humus, roasted chestnut, pumpkin, molasses and black pepper, moving into savory fruit: blackberry compote with orange rind, blackcurrant and sour fermented blackberries. Expressive, salty and bloody palate with irony minerals, round acid, and a peppery finish. A little bit dark fruited, but still quite enjoyable. Needs a few more years or a long decant.

Steely blackberry and black cherry have a wonderful crystalline lightness to them with gorgeous acidity and wet chalkboard minerality with the faintest of tannins. Lovely.

Slight reductive funk on opening, with awesome savory notes and no hint of oak.

Better than I expected from the vintage. Showing very good flavor depth and easy length.
