#chassagnemontrachet #premieurcru eagerly waited a couple of years to open this. First day, drank it too cold and paired it with gulf coast Grouper meunière-style which would have went better with a steely crisp Chablis. 2 days later from wine fridge, serving in a Pinot Noir bowl wine glass my experience was transformed as the wine warmed up gently on a cool sunny day. Lemon curd, ghee, almond paste, faint floral honey tones on the nose. Rich, almost oily mouthfeel, tension and mineral notes in the backseat with ascendant lemon curd, creamy meringue and ripe pear. Delicious layers of flavor from the last glass in the bottle.

Happy Bastille day! 🇫🇷 This is showing too much new oak for me at the moment. Underlying material is nice if the oak eventually integrates.
