Morgeot Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay

This is an utterly delightful white Burgundy that was a little understated to start but in the glass opened up to be complex, rich, slightly tropical, yet focused and, perhaps most importantly in this context, very good friendly.

Rich and buttery with notes of lemon curd, lemon peel and exotic citrus fruits

Thrown completely when blind tasted.

The colour and nose is something else.

Citrus. A bit heavy for chassagne. Needs some time.

Good showing ... an extrovert wine but lacked lenght on the finish

Faded beauty. With echoes of its past.

Always glad to find a great bottle of white burg that has some age and isn't pre-mox. Boy I wish they would solve this problem. Because when they're good what a pleasure it's drinking them.
