I just picked this Shiraz/Viognier up and paid $16.99 for the bottle. This is a joint venture between Anthony Terlato and Michel Chapoutier out of Victoria Australia. The combination of Shiraz and Viognier is very intriguing to me and I picked this up given the names associated with the wine, well that is as far as that goes. On the nose I get bright fruit of red plum, blueberry, herbs and black pepper. On the palate there is plum, red & black cherry, spice, black pepper with a touch of tangerine and honey and a mint finish. Not a very complex wine, starts of good but loses something through the mid palate then really falls of quick. An easy drinking wine for as young as it is.

Pretty perfumed nose of dark berries, black pepper, fresh flowers and a contrasting sweaty saddle note. Palate leans to the lighter side of medium bodied, with easygoing tannins. More red fruit on palate. Clear ripe strawberry, floral and even a peachy stone fruit at the end. Very pleasant and approachable and tasty. Not your typical over the top shiraz.

Easy drinking and mellow medium body red with the Viognier muting and balancing the typical bold fruit and pepper Shiraz flavours. Thought this was very nice and certainly very drinkable.

Raspberies, black cherry, tobacco, and some charcoal. A little thin but kinda yummy.
