The 2020 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is understated on the nose, unfolding in the glass with fine delineation and poise, becoming more floral with aeration but never impeding across the pure red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, taut and fresh, on another level of freshness compared to its peers with a prolonged, lightly spiced finish. This is one of the standout wines from this Grand Cru - superb. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2024)

The 2017 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a primal bouquet of black cherry and crushed strawberry fruit, becoming more confit-like with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit and fine depth and poise. Crisp and taut with a pleasant brittle texture toward the finish. It needs time, but it will come good in the end. Closure is Diam 30 Organic. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, January 2022)

2012 vintage. Last tasted 5.11.23. Two attempts at this wine tonight. First bottle slightly corked. Second bottle really nice but not drinking as well (9.5) as the same wine in May 2023 despite similar handling and time commitments. 1.20.24.

2012 vintage. Still on the ascent. A bit of age on the colo(u)r belying the concentration. Spearmint and ripe cherry with a splash of menthol and crackin black pepper on the finish. Medium bodied. 5.11.23.
