This one will drink well for a long time. It felt so young for mature burgundy, so full of life. Black cherries, thyme, clove, and dried tea leaves on the nose - pallet showed raspberries, dried cranberry, nutmeg, violets, and a lingering finish. The color was beautifully garnet red, slight signs of a burnt orange rim, but a wine full of concentrated flavor and red still remains after 8 years. If you can find some, buy 3, drink one, forget about 2. Paired with fillet mignon, red wine jus, and roasted roots.

Oct 12th, 2017Gripping tannins, notes of red currant and black tea. Should be better in 3 - 5 years.

Sep 26th, 20152017 vintage. Decanted and tasted after 30 mins. Medium-heavy body but starting to thin out slightly. Taupenot-Merme is one of the "bigger bodied" Burgs. Wanted more earth but got more spice instead. Decent compromise. Seems like another 3-4 years would find this hitting the optimal sweet spot. 8.23.24.

Aug 23rd, 2024I really like this wine. Layered with red fruits, forest floor, truffles. Kept getting better with air. A site that sits right next to clos de beze...best bought in hot years as the forest behind it lets it stay cool
