Top Notes For
Sipping Fine Wine

Made solely from the Moschofilero grape, has now qualified for PDO Mantinia and will be a vintage product. The sparkling wine is produced according to the Charmat Method, with the second fermentation lasting approximately 60 days. Pale lemon with steady bubble flow. Flavors of stone and tropical fruits, crisp medium finish ending with fruit notes.

Oaky, vanilla on the nose. Fine bubbles. Light body and low acidity on the palate. Aromatic finish.

Coppery clear color with thick, if fast fading mousse. The bubbles are persistent in a flute -- though somewhat coarse, as others have noted -- but stop quickly in a standard light red wine glass (my preferred shape for drinking with a meal). Nose is highly aromatic with yellow apple hitting the nose upon opening, then stepping aside for complex layers of butterscotch toast, herby flowers, citrus peel, and (I almost hate to say it with a Greek wine) pine resin (yes, I know). All of that is naturally echoed on the palate, which feels rich on the tongue; more like an Extra Dry or even a Sec than a Brut. Bubbles and decent but not firm acidity keep things lively. A sparkler meant for food (not celebrations) if there ever was one, and at the $20 price point, easy on the budget. I will enjoy with Moldovan cuisine (Mamaliga Trapeza).

Very interesting Greek sparkler created on the base of dry, slightly fruity Moschofilero. Pleasant and easy, green apple and mild yeasty notes.
