Bourgogne Passetoutgrain Gamay Pinot Noir Blend

Damn this was cool. Best pastourgrain I’ve had in years (not a lot to compare it to though)

Probably stayed closed given tiny glasses, & a hint of better things to come with air. Gamy/Pinot blend theoretically makes it more accessible young

A big whiff of reduction blows away quickly, revealing the dark, grinding, relentless wine this always is. Pie spice, sap and blackberry. Superb, yet I question the idea of making reductive Passetoutgrain.

Few years of bottle age give it a pinot like mouthfeel and elegance

Deep nose, great complexity. Palate is light and dry. Great.

Soft and fuzzy.

Earthy notes on the nose. Slight bitterness but not as pronounced. Red apple skins. Green apple on the finish. This wine wants to be drunk with any food. Good

Amazing strawberry-brick-earth notes on the nose. The finish is exactly what you'd expect for gamay- not too exciting or bold but perfect for enjoying with cheese. I owe Caleb for sharing this one with me! A favorite. Sharing with my coworkers.
