Raspberry, pepper and savory spices, licorice. As good as hyped but young and better on second day.

Whole cluster shines every so slight. Love it and is ready right now.

I am fortunate to have a good wine supplier that can hook me up with great wines like this one. Prototypical Vosne. Deep, earthy, powerful yet refined. One of my absolute favourite regions in Burgundy

A great way to end the week. Pure, deep fruit, elegant layers of earth and flowers, velvety tannins. The use of oak is evident but not offensive at all. Primary but this is just a baby, a very sensual and beautiful Vosne Romanée. Day 2: has really sorted itself out, just ripe black fruit, lilacs, wet moss, 5-spice, menthol, candied rhubarb, crushed rock, blood orange peel. Totally digging how sensual the nose is for Village level.

Much more energy than the Chambolle 2008, but I'm not sure I like the Arnoux style. It's a touch too sweet and leafy.

Not showing its age at all. Amazing paired with TFL's Mac & Cheese with black truffles

Decanted 2 hours. More Arnoux than Vosne. Darker color and nose than vintage would dictate. Reduced on opening. Spice seems more oak derived than indicative of Vosne-Romanee. Good acid and though a hint over-extracted (on this showing, at least) fresh and decently fruited. Served with dry-aged ribeye, Brussels sprouts, and potato gratin.

Great village wine. Not sure if there’s any declassified fruit in here too? Pondered the cost a few years ago when it seemed like the second coming of a little known producer that was garnering atmospheric prices at auction …. Insider knowledge of Beaux Monts, Malconsorts or even Echezeaux in the bottle labeled as Village wine? It was getting $600+ at auction then and this week I noticed it being offered at $250 and going unsold 😳🤔
Hype at first now realized?
