Domaine Ramonet
Morgeot Chassagne-Montrachet Chardonnay

Had dinner with friends who love aged white Burgundy. As you can imagine there has been many setbacks over the years, this bottle makes up for all of the disappointments. I was amazed by the freshness on the nose and on the palate. Lemon, mature fruit flavors and wonderful life giving acid. Amazing persistence on the finish. A wine of many gears. I truly get excited when I am fortunate to drink a magical bottle of aged white burgundy.

Depressed cork. Gave an odd little splash when the solid plug was pulled. Darkish gold color. Soft nose. Notes of apricot, orange, quince and a little lemon. Subdued mouth feel. At first you would say this is lacking structure and some depth. But with air it gives some sneaky acidity. After a few more hours, it improved noticeably. Impressive.

Medium gold color. Heavy, like oil in the glass. Great old nose with a citrus feel. Notes of lemon, lime blossoms, wet river stone, dusty earth. Rich in the mouth with subtle fine grained acidity that builds with air time. Definitely missing some of the power and impact of a 1er or GC, but fun nonetheless. Drink up.

Deep gold color but promising nose. Notes of sweet apricot, clay stone, kiwi and some floral thing. Rich with light acidity. Pleasurable but nearing a downward slope in its life. Drink up.
